On the 12th day of Christmas!!

My dear, sweet, new mama to precious baby girl friend, Lisa has graciously offered to guest post for us- and I am so grateful!! She is one of the sweetest people and her blog just makes you want to move next door and become BFF with her! Enjoy!!!

Thank you Lindsey for letting me guest post for you today and Merry Christmas to all the readers here!

My name is Lisa and I blog over at First Comes Love.

I want to talk about what Christmas means to me.  Which is a little different this year than past, because now I get to experience Christmas with my daughter Piper!

First and foremost, I'm a Christian and Christmas to me is all about celebrating the birth of Jesus.

Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Christmas is about family!  I have a lot of family that this is the only time of year that I see them!  It's great to get together and catch up and see how everyone's lives have changed in the past year.  Last year I was 4 months pregnant.  This year I have a beautiful (almost) 6 month old.

Christmas is the time of year when it's okay to splurge a little on your diet and indulge in some high calorie goodness.  Some of my favorite Christmas recipes:

Oreo Truffles...heavenly!

Plus 1 cup of Rum if you want to get really Merry!

Christmas Music!
This song can bring a girl to tears every time she hears it!  The best Christmas song in my opinion.  Celine kills it.

Warm and cozy outfits.
I wouldn't mind if these made their way into my closet.

Christmas is about GIVING!  Whether it be to a local homeless or battered women shelter, the Salvation Army red kettles outside shops, or your favorite charity...please give!  It doesn't have to be alot.  It doesn't even have to be money.  You can give your time. Pick a day or evening and volunteer somewhere with a group of friends or your family.  I promise you, not only will you bless others but it will bless you as well!

And finally, my wish list for this year:)

Merry Christmas Lindsey!  I hope you, your family and your readers here have a very blessed season!  XOXO's from Nebraska!
