Honored is certainly an understatement when one of the sweetest and big time bloggers happily agrees to guest post for your 12 days of Christmas series...Thank you so very much Megan!
Hi Love to the Moon readers! I'm Megan and I blog at In this Wonderful Life :)
Lindsey
asked me to join in on her 12 days of Christmas posts and I was happy
and excited to do so! However, time slipped away from me and my
Christmas cards arrived and were needing to be addressed, so I was
definitely a little delayed getting my post to her! Sorry, Lindsey!!!
She told me that she would love me to post about anything to do with Christmas!
I, too,
LOVE the holidays. I really love everything about it. The only thing I
don't like that it does seem to pass quickly, I suppose like every other
aspect of time!
For
the past three Christmases, I have technically either been pregnant or
have had relatively new babies. I've not purchased many new Christmas
items, although I've really been wanting a Nativity scene. I see so many
pretty ones and I remember ours, as a child, so well. My mom still uses
it.
I
thought I would get a nice one, but then I thought, I want Knox &
Sloane to be able to interact with it, learn from it and for it to be
more hands-on. So, last year, although they were still quite little, I
ordered two that both had reviews as being kid friendly! That's the nice
part about the social media world, you can find great items from
other's experience.
Jesus is the
reason for the season and I really want Knox & Sloane to know that.
I want them to understand what Christmas means and why we celebrate it.
I want them to know it's the spirit of giving, so we give to others and
one another because we were given this life. So, while they are still a
bit young this year, they know what "give baby Jesus" a kiss means and
it melts my heart. I know they won't be able to understand it all yet,
but it's a great time to start teaching.
This
one sits up on a table, but where they can see it. Next year, I'll
probably move it down lower, maybe fireplace hearth. It's plush with
mostly felt material.
This year, on the hearth, I have a smaller one....
I thought it would be a good place for us to sit at their level to play with it...

Jesus IS the reason for the season!!

I got that same smaller nativity for my girls this year. They just love it and it really helps them understand more about Jesus!
