I didn't think I would write about the prep for another birthday party because I thought I would bore my amazing readers to tears, but I decided just a little bit wouldn't be so bad (at least I hope not). So in 3 short years she has grown into this toddler so quickly! I get teased often about it being "time" to have another child, and the truth is- I hope to have another child in the not so distant future because I do think Kelsey would be just as great of a big sister as Julianna is to her. On a different note, we are having two parties (yes what was I thinking- you are correct!) back-to-back weekends nonetheless, for family and then for friends, because I feel bad that Kelsey hasn't really had a friend party- we like that her birthday is in late August because we celebrate the end of summer (almost) with our families as a nice way to wrap it up. This year I kept things much more simple food wise and didn't make myself nuts because we are doing the two parties.
Girlfriend wanted a Rapunzel (Tangled) party for as long as I can remember! So, she is getting TWO Rapunzel parties! It was extremely easy to find some inexpensive decor via amazon & ebay, so that was great!! We didn't go overboard with the theme like I did last year where everything Mickey Mouse Clubhouse could be had here at the G house! According to our family so far- she will be receiving EVERY Rapunzel item that any store in the Tri-State area sells lol. I am excited for her because she has an actual idea about what her birthday is and also has her birthday countdown going which I think is adorable. She woke up today with one of three of her favorite party dresses, so I am thinking she is using those dresses over the next three days too, in order to gear up for her big day! I love the genuine excitement kids get over their birthdays because it is so sweet and it also makes it more exciting for me because I want to shed some tears as I watch my babies grow up right before my eyes. It is a bit of an emotional roller coaster as I am sure many moms can relate. On one hand, we are thrilled that our children are growing up into little "people", but we still view them as the babies they were when they were born and that innocence that we feel they will have forever.
In another note- I am gearing up to restart "Fashionista Friday" because I know I have loyal readers who deserve a minimum of a weekly post from me! Fashionista Friday was something I truly enjoyed doing for awhile and I truly hope that many of you will consider linking up because it is fun. I know a lot of my following is either moms, women who are becoming moms, newlyweds, newly-engaged, or mature women who are consistently looking for ways to look fashion forward without necessarily spending a ton of money to do so. So on that note- I will be doing my posts with either a pic of me (which I don't exactly like doing), but it might be the only way I can show what I am into with what I paid for each item, or a polyvore blend of clothing that works wonders as an ensemble and I will find the equivalent items that are less expensive if that outfit I find is on the pricey side. I would love for any readers to list in the comment section a dollar amount that you feel is appropriate to spend on a casual weekday outfit, so that I do not exceed that amount when I am putting together these outfits.
Thank you all for the loyalty and the support that you give me as a blogger, I know I don't post as often as I would like, however, sometimes I do feel that I am not in a positive place to write and I never want to come off as anything but positive because that is what I push and strive to be everyday. I want everything I write to come from the heart and be as authentic as humanly possible given the topic of choice.
So there you have it! Hope everyone is having a great day! XOXO
