Approximately one month ago (July 8th), I turned the big 3-0! Ahhhhhh!!! It was very hard on me to embrace for some reason and I don't exactly have any way to put into words why that is the case. My husband, family & friends made my 30th birthday the best it could have possibly been! I have always known that I am blessed, but that day just made me realize it even more. My friends from here in the "blogosphere" were sending their love and wishes left and right and it made me feel so incredibly special.
Thirty for me is one of those big milestones that I just feel as though I should have certain things accomplished by now. My sweet husband then reminded me that in a very short 7 years we got engaged at 23, married at 24, bought our first home & had Julianna at 25, and had our Kelsey at 27. And I think at that moment it sank in, that we have accomplished quite a bit in a rather short period of time.
My husband and I decided that now that we are thirty, we are going to create a list entitled "the next 30" for each of us. It's kind of like a bucket list in some ways, but it is all about what we want to accomplish over the next 30 years. My husband jokes and says that his list will be longer than mine because he plans on retiring early- lol. I think the idea of making this list is a great idea though because over those 7 years from 23-30, things happened so fast, and as we watch our daughters grow so quickly right before our eyes, having one of these lists is a nice way to remind us to treasure the moments and make the most out of everyday.
I am working on my list currently and I hope that I can cross a few things off my list by the end of 2013 actually. My husband crossed his first thing off his "30 after 30" list 2 weeks ago when he was able to still dunk on the basketball hoop at his mom's house! He embraces the fact that he is 6'8" tall and thrives on being able to dunk and continue to play basketball when he can.
Some of my goals/wishes on my "30 after 30" list include: exercising at least 3 times per week, growing my spa business and promoting up to the next level before the end of the year, and hopefully being pregnant with our third child by the beginning of 2014 since the husband and I truly want to have more children.
So far 30 has been treating me well and I am definitely exercising in different ways that I am kind of creating as I go- it isn't your standard "gym" workout because I don't have the opportunity to go to the gym routinely. I am also putting as much time as I can into building my business. I would love to earn the trip for two that is being promoted right now to Punta Cana! And if I achieve it, the husband and I would be able to celebrate his birthday in Punta Cana! So that is where I'm at for now. I'll keep everyone posted if any more of my 30 after 30 list is made/accomplished :)
Have a wonderful day! xoxo
