Hello loyal lovies! I know it has been awhile, I have been in a major blogging funk along with dealing with some other issues. As a mother of two toddlers, some of you can relate- actually who am I kidding, any mother with any amount of children, regardless of age, can relate....this is tough work!
A little insight into me...12 years ago I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease and that was not a great process by any means, approximately 8 years ago, I developed migraines that were awful but not consistent, so low and behold, I dealt with them- some advil, extra strength tylenol, and the help of excedrin migraine, allowed me to get to a place of being able to function which I was so grateful for. Fast forward 6 more years and around the end of 2011, I started having more and more migraines and more of them were compromising my functional ability, especially at a time when I had a one year old and almost 3 year old on my hands. As the progression of the migraines got worse, I sought out the advice of my followers here (I love you all sooooo much) and also my facebook followers and twitter followers (thank you times a million), to see what forms of treatment have worked for them.
After almost a year of trying different hollistic and medicinal approaches to the migraines, my doctors at the renowned Thomas Jefferson Headache Center (ranked within the top 5 in the country) decided it would be in my best interest to try the new FDA approved Botox injections for migraine headaches! Yeah- go figure- BOTOX people!! I know turning 30 hit me like a ton of bricks, but I never thought Botox would be a part of my future...honestly! While the pictures are absolutely horrendous because I had to be sans makeup which I'm never really thrilled about , I was amazed at the rapid results in physical appearance within 24 hours.
While the first round hasn't gone as well as planned with the relief (and my migraines have been a MAJOR cause of me not being able to blog nearly as much as I'd like), I am hopeful and optimistic that soon enough after the next round of treatments in December, I will feel so much better!
I know that a lot of my followers either here, on facebook or on twitter or instagram have mentioned that they suffer from incapacitating migraines as well, and it is very challenging with trying to be a mom and have that amount of pain, I just wanted to let you all know that I am grateful that this is a treatment that will have success and I will be back to living the life I've always wanted to- pain free & being the wife & mom my husband and daughters deserve.
This very well isn't one of my best posts, but I did want to share with those of my fellow migraine sufferers that there are new alternatives if you consistently struggle with your migraines, because I feel your pain- literally!!!
Best wishes to all of the fellow moms or non-moms that deal with these terrible migraines, I pray for you all that you find the relief you deserve! xoxo
